“We want to expand our presence in Brazil and strengthen the new Pragmatic Play Sports brand”

GMB – Last time we met was in Rio de Janeiro, right? And that was your first time in Brazil?
Gareth Crook – That’s correct. I actually turned 45 since my trip to Rio two months ago. It took me 44 years to visit Brazil, and now I’ve been here twice in just two or three months! I feel truly honored and privileged.
We announced the debut of Pragmatic Play Sports in Rio back in February, and now I’m back for the second time to expand our presence in the Latin American market and to raise awareness of our new Pragmatic Play Sports brand.
What were your impressions of São Paulo?
São Paulo was fantastic. We started the week with a city tour on Monday — it’s a very different place compared to Rio. We’ve had some incredible food and visited some impressive sights.
Then we went to the event, working hard. We’ve received an amazing response to our product. We even have Pelé’s iconic football jersey displayed at our sports stand, and the interest in our product has been tremendous.
Would you say that the goal of coming to São Paulo and being present at the stand during BiS SiGMA has been achieved?
Gareth Crook – Absolutely. A lot has changed since our first visit. The Brazilian football season has now started, and we’re introducing a highly competitive football product to the market, integrated with official data from Brazil’s Série A and Série B.
We are also offering live video streaming, directly sourced from the official rights holders, for all Brazilian football matches.
Additionally, we have complementary products such as the “Football Bet Builder” and individual player markets — for example, bets on who will have the most shots on goal, total assists, or fouls committed. This is our flagship product here: a very strong football offering. And of course, in Latin America, having a top-tier football product is essential.
Finally, can you tell what’s next for Pragmatic Play Sports in Latin America?
Visiting Latin America has already become a habit for us! We were in Rio in February, now São Paulo in April, and later this month we’re heading to Cartagena, Colombia.
After that, we plan to visit Peru and attend the America Show in Miami at the beginning of May.
We work hard and are very excited about continuing to visit and expand our footprint throughout the region.
